Jobs
in MYOB - The Good and (not so) Bad.
Jobs
have been around for a long time and many MYOB users (including the
writer) swear by them. So what are the Pros and Cons to Jobs
in MYOB?
Pros
- Use Jobs to measure the
financial performance of various operations within your
business.
- It is simple to add a
Job in the appropriate transactions to create a
history.
- Jobs can be easily managed under the Lists/Jobs menu.
- Jobs can be reported on individually, in a batch or
consolidated.
- Costs can be passed onto clients by using Track Reimbursables
within Jobs.
Cons
None really - Just some minor
points
- Plan your Job structure -
particularly if you are a Not For Profit Organisation. Unwieldily
Job lists cannot be used efficiently and lead to inaccurate (and
sometimes indiscriminate) Job selection when posting
entries.
- Leading on from above - Keep
it Simple. Like everything in systems, simpler is usually
better.
Find Transactions - One of
MYOB best secrets (hidden in plain view)
